TAI Martial Arts

TAI Martial Arts

At Croley's Martial Arts Center we teach a system of Martial Arts called TAI.

Transition Action, Incorporated (TAI) is a system of memorizing martial arts created by Grand Master David German. It is a highly personalized system that can be adapted to the individual needs of the user. Nobody is the same as anybody else. We all have different body types, different thoughts, and different emotional responses. With TAI people are able to create systems of martial art specifically for themselves and any situation that they find themselves in.

This system teaches several different arts covering all ranges of Martial Arts styles. The student is shown how to combine the arts into one distinctly individual system that is completely fluid. The end product is that of a complete martial artist who is well versed in several different arts and theories. A TAI martial artist can be called a decathlete of the martial arts, a person who can change from one art to another with fluidity in order to adapt to any situation.

A TAI martial artist can be called a decathlete of the martial arts, a person who can change from one art to another with fluidity in order to adapt to any situation.

The system of TAI is taught like a classical literature class. The student comes to recognize that all arts are valuable, and learns to see the beauty of them all. At the same time the student also learns to adapt the aspect of the classical arts to fit their needs. It is like studying Hemmingway, Melville, Longfellow, Dickens, etc. The student can look and say "this is Hemmingway, and this is Melville", or the student can take what they like of them all and say "this is mine." In this fashion the TAI student can study many of the classics while at the same time being able to create based upon what works best for the individual.

In the art of TAI the concepts are far more important than the actual physical techniques. By learning to see different concepts, flow through them, and understand the good and the bad with all, a martial artist will not only be a formidable opponent, but will also be able to apply this ability to other areas of life. He or she will learn how to see different aspects of things and will learn to understand him or herself as well as other people better. TAI will not only make you a better martial artist, it will also make you a better person.

What Croley's Martial Arts Center really does is bring mindfulness to bear for individual students. In reality "spirit" will always prevail in school and in life situations. The learning of martial art forms and techniques is really a small part of the education one gets at the School. What is really taught at the School is a way to live. I and my family have found our lives greatly enhanced by aligning our individual lives with the philosophy taught at Croley's Martial Arts Center.
